I am pleased to provide a reference related to the design, development and construction project that BDC completed for the Cal Poly Housing Corporation. This project provided faculty and staff housing to help recruit and retain employees at Cal Poly. It was important to keep costs below the local market while providing quality housing and low maintenance. BDC submitted the best proposal and worked closely with Cal Poly to meet the objectives. The design, cost reductions to meet budget targets, construction and negotiations with local agencies by BDC were exceptional.
All the units were sold or leased at a time when the local market was declining. Both the University and the employees who purchased or leased units have been very pleased with the results.

Our first contact with BDC was in 2002 when they responded to the RFP we issued for Cal Poly's Bella Montaña faculty housing project. They were the most qualified and responsive of the candidates.
Since the job began, we have found their performance outstanding. Their work has been right on schedule and of the highest quality. Their business management and organization is excellent. Feedback from homeowners has been exceptional; they are very pleased by both the professionalism and responsiveness of BDC. My only "negative" comment is that they did such a great job, the management company we hired to oversee the project didn't have nearly enough to do!

We have worked with Eron and Jeff Loughead for many, many years now on a variety of projects, most recently a subdivision in Avila that performed with what one might consider “without a hiccup” during a very difficult economic climate. This loan was for the off-site improvements and construction of single family homes, which received very positive media coverage in your local newspapers.
I cannot impress upon you my faith in these two individuals. Not only were they able to retire our debt in full, which was nearly $12MM, but they stepped up and contributed cash to escrows in order to do so. Payments for interest were made out of pocket without a problem once the interest reserve was depleted. Construction of the subdivision was handled in a very positive manner without any negative issues. We handled all of the construction disbursements and we never experienced any lien issues or construction disputes.

The last half of 2009 Joyce and I searched the Pismo area for a house that to buy. A dream my wife has had for 30 years. We looked, shopped and compared over 20 houses that were on the market for sale. Either the house was too small, too big, needed too much work or too expensive. Finally, one day we looked at an unfinished house at the end of Costa Brava in the Playa Del Sol tract.
When we entered the unfinished house I immediately noticed the very high quality of craftsmanship throughout. Everything was precise and very well designed for comfortable living. Within an hour we were talking with the builders Eron and Jeff Loughead. These are two impressive guys.
It is easy to make a deal with Eron and Jeff because they do exactly what they agree to do and a little extra. They built our house from start to finish in 8 months. They helped us all along the way so that the finished house was just exactly what my wife wanted and we only overran the budget a small amount. Eron and Jeff are two people I would not hesitate to recommend to build your house. They are friendly people and don’t play any contractor games. In other words, there were no bad surprises. Building a new house is a large investment and above all you need a trustworthy contractor with the knowledge to provide what you want. Eron and Jeff did just that. Thanks fellows for making this an enjoyable experience.

Eron and Jeff were excellent to work with. Their knowledge and experience in real estate development and construction was critical to the success of our project. Budget and schedule were paramount as our project was being sold at below market prices.
Eron managed the project like his own development. I was one of several who Eron met with regularly to review the project schedule, project budget and owner initiated contingency items. Our project was completed with no contractor liens over the thress phases of project construction and we were able to complete the project with a sizable contingency balance remaining. Eron was able to keep the project on budget and still produce a quality product.
We shared a desire to build a project we could be proud of and it was reflected in their management of the project, in the fact that the project was completed under budget and on schedule, and in the end product. We had a positive experience working with them and would not hesitate to work with BDC Development Corporation again in the future.
